H-shaped steel is an efficient and economical profile (others are cold-formed thin-walled steel, profiled steel, etc.). They make the steel more efficient and increase the ability to make cuts due to the sensible cross-sectional shape. Different from ordinary I-shaped steel, the flange of H-shaped steel is widened, and the inner and outer surfaces are usually parallel, which is convenient for connection with high-strength bolts and other components. Its dimensions make up a reasonable series with a complete range of models that are easy to design and use.
The flange of the H-beam is of equal thickness, with a rolled part, and the combined part consists of three welded plates. I-beams are all rolled profiles, and due to poor production technology, there is a slope of 1:10 inside the flange. The difference between H-beam rolling and ordinary I-beam is that only one set of horizontal rolls is used.
